Hello Creative Soul,
Imagine this for a moment in the most freeing and liberating way you can: You- freely creating to your heart's content for no other reason, than for the simple pleasure and joy that it brings you. For the purpose of creating something that doesn't have to be anything. Imagine that. In a space to yourself, with all the supplies at hand. With the freedom of not having to validate your desire to cut images and words from a magazine that capture some truth for you, some defining words, some guiding message to help you navigate your creative life. Giving a home to synchronicity, by gluing down a message that only you could have noticed while flipping through glossy magazine pages. In a moment when your soul, stopped the page with a fierce finger and said, "this is the one". Your eyes see clearly these intuitive guide-posts as you tear a page out and begin putting into form your inner world. A process of unraveling and spreading out for further understanding, for deeper integration, sometimes to celebrate, and other times to let it hold you. Something you could hold in your precious hands, something you've created that has meaning to YOU. It holds a story-piece to the journey of your life. This is YOUR story. The main struggle that people have with creativity is that they stop themselves from doing what comes naturally. |
A simple, weekly creative practiceThe weekly journey card process is a culmination of simple creativity, allowance, intuition, story and curation. It became a do-able practice for a dear friend and I back in 2014.
My desire was to create a space for my muse and deepen my awareness of my soul-journeys in a loose way that wouldn't stifle my creative flow. I discovered was that we were both learning about our own individual creative cycles. We didn't want the restraint of a daily challenge, but we wanted to get in touch with a practice that felt right for each of us. And, it worked! We did it for a year and soon it became a consistent thread in our unique soul practices. Since 2015, we've both found our own way of carrying out a practice, but at the core of it rests: unbounded creative expression and it started with 52 cards. |
This is the art of "BEing-Okay" with it all.So it's kept simple with much room for abstract expression because it's your personal process and creative practice done your way. Allow it to unfold and evolve in the most organically way possible. No funky rules, just introspective prompts and a little inspirational guidance along the way. My personal stories, struggles, explorations, realizations and expressions are shared to present opportunity and the loving permission to be human, not having it all figured out, maybe not having anything figured out and in this...is beauty, worthy of art-making.
