Welcome. The Journeyzine is back! The Journeyzine was a collaborative project between two friends back in 2013. We were only on our fourth issue when we realized the project could not sustain itself so I put it away for safe-keeping with hopes it could be rebirthed again at a later time. And, now is the time!
Personally I myself require a space to write it all out in just the way I need or want too. I do better when I can create under my own accord sans an editorial structure that doesn't allow for new words, definitions, nor doesn't see how grammatical errors can be artful expressions. As well as a form of radical resilience because many of us continue to thrive even if we misspell something. Here, words are art and images are poetry or stories in motion.
There are many of us, including myself that do not fit into the overculture's mold. I will not edit your voice or ideas because I've lived outside the mold for most of my life that I don't have it in me to change or alter another human soul's expressions or experiences. I tend to gravitate towards the unscripted and unfiltered anyway. I believe in and honor the beauty of process. That is everything to me. I'm not saying the other way is wrong. We need books, we need publishers, we need editors and wordsmiths. I am only offering a space where naked expressions are at the forefront and you can do it your way, imperfections and all. Trust me when I say, I need that most of all.
Writing has always been cathartic for me, an act of self-love and one of spirit-reclamation. It's been how I've processed life over the years and so I seek it for soul-healing. Co-creative and collaborative projects can be juicy and inspiring too! There is such great energy in all of that. I hope that's how it feels for you too; as a reader, a writer, a poet, an artist, etc. My intention is to make this zine a space for your words, images, and stories to be held and to be seen.

Black & white, charcoal-grey, moodiness and poetry. Oh, and tea.
The Journeyzine is mostly a monochromic copier-print booklet. Sometimes color-print pages may occur and are reserved for particular art or photographs that just need some oomph for dimension, but we like to stick to the classic black and white, even greyscale moodiness because it's more sensual and poetic. I am a wild creature in love with those two things, especially together. The booklet averages between 30-40 pages of poetry, stories, memoir-ish writings as well as mixed media art pieces and photography. I will add that there is enough blank space on the pages so that readers might fully experience the energy and artful expressions of what is being beholden to and witnessed in these pages. Fully present. On occasion there may be a page or two with creative prompts and space to doodle, list, draw or make any soul-notes.
New issues are created seasonally (quarterly) and are often not about the season itself It's just how they're created and distributed. We just got our wings, so we may be slow in growing for a bit. I hope you can join me in holding a vision for a thriving zine that offers the right kind of space to like-minded kindreds. Thank you for all your support!

Some fine print: we don't edit, but reserve the right to refuse work that goes against our guidelines. Which in short means: we're not super picky, but we also trust that common sense is an agreeable guideline to go by.
